PASCAL
THEATRE COMPANY is a new writing company formed by Julia Pascal in 1985.
We produce new plays and work educationally in schools and
community centres. We also provide training workshops for women theatre
practitioners.
In the past we have focused on Black, Jewish and Irish work. We are always open to new plays which explore cultural identity and exile. Women’s work is also one of our concerns. We have performed in London, France, Poland, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium. We also perform in French and German and much of our tradition comes from an Eastern European heritage. Venues in which we have played include the Lyric Theatre, Riverside Studios, The British Library, The Imperial War Museum, The Drill Hall, New End Theatre, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oval House plus libraries, schools and community centres. We have produced the work of writers such as Thomas Brasch, Seamus Finnegan, Karim Alrawi, Fay Weldon, Harold Pinter, Julia Pascal, Carole Rumens, Yana Stajno and Miriam Sivan. |
